I gave an example of dual fulfillment. You then ask for an example, talking to Apog, and guess what? The one he just gave? ..I'd just posted that exact..same..thread.. I must be just one of those people nobody listens to.

Matthew 24:32-34 says “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, YOU know that summer is near.33 Even so, when YOU see all these things, YOU know that it is near, right at the door.34 Truly I tell YOU, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." .... Jw's read this and think Jesus was talking about a generation of people nearly 2000 years later.. So don't waste energy trying to understand the dual-fulfillment stuff they teach, it's a proven way to lose brain cells ;)

Serious question: Can a Jehovahs Witness join a democratic non-religious organisation? If it's not political, can they vote?
by The Quiet One ine.g a nonprofit organisation that helps people, that requires its members to vote.
is all voting evil and wrong, even if it's not a political party?.

Excellent input guys.. but how about voting for the leader of a nonreligious and nonpolitical organisation, if it is required of members, rather than merely joining it?

Thanks Smiddy, interesting answer.. So a Witness would abstain from even voting for a Union representative?

Splash- What are your sources? Jake- Good thinking, that sounds like a good example, if Union members are required to vote for their elected leadership. Can't imagine a publisher being allowed, though..

Lurkers/faders in the US - a heads up on next week's service meeting (Warwick HQ project to be discussed)
by cedars inhi folks.
atlantis has very kindly let me see a copy of the aug 21, 2013 letter to all bodies of elders in the united states.. they are being instructed to re-organize the service meeting for the week commencing september 2nd (next week) to include a special recruitment talk to attract skilled volunteer workers for the new warwick hq.. an interesting feature of the letter is its comparison of the project with nehemiah's rebuilding of the walls of jerusalem.
considering the relocation of hq is financially motivated more than anything, the analogy is more than a little bewildering.. here is a scan of the opening comments of the two-page outline, to be given in the next local needs item.... .
